Der Covid-19 Hilfsfond realisiert ein weiteres Projekt und spendet ein umfangreiches Digitalpaket an die Stiftung THW: Siemens Caring Hands e.V. stellt Tablets für alle 668 THW-Ortsverbände über die Stiftung THW zur Verfügung und stattet die Geräte zusätzlich mit cloud-basierten Apps auf Basis der Siemens-Software „Mendix“ aus. Mit diesem Digitalpaket wird der Zivil- und Katastrophenschutz noch schneller und zielgenauer agieren können.

 

Das Technische Hilfswerk (THW) leistet weltweit unerlässliche Hilfe und nimmt bereits seit Beginn der Corona-Krise eine wesentliche Rolle in der Pandemiebekämpfung ein. So hat das THW bisher bereits mit vielen ehrenamtlich engagierten Mitgliedern bei der Verteilung von Schutzausrüstung sowie dem Aufbau von Impfzentren / Impfstationen geholfen.

Um das THW bestmöglich zu unterstützen, spendet Siemens Caring Hands nun 668 Tablets an die Stiftung THW, die wiederum den Einsatz der Geräte in allen Ortsverbänden des THW ermöglicht. Damit wird nicht nur ein nachhaltiger Beitrag zur Pandemiebekämpfung, sondern auch für die Zukunft der Katastrophenhilfe insgesamt geleistet.

 

Tablets & cloud-basierte Apps zur Pandemiebekämpfung

 

Siemens Caring Hands trägt nicht nur die Kosten der Hardware, sondern berät mit Hilfe von Siemens-Experten auch bei der Inbetriebnahme der Geräte, wie beispielsweise bei Fragen des Datenschutzes. Außerdem stattet der Verein die Tablets zusätzlich mit cloud-basierten Apps aus. Diese werden von Mendix, weltweit führend bei No-Code/Low-Code-Anwendungen, spezifisch für diesen Zweck programmiert. Für die Entwicklung der Apps wurde ein mehrstufiger Prozess aufgesetzt, der das THW befähigen kann, die Low-Code-Applikationen eigenständig für seine Bedürfnisse zu planen und mit Hilfe eines von Siemens durchgeführten Hackathons Ende April zu programmieren. Damit können beispielsweise die Auftragsverwaltung sowie die Atemschutzüberwachung digitalisiert werden, um so Einsätze in Krisenzeiten wie der Pandemie zielgerichteter und sicherer planen zu können.

Digitalisierung des THW

 

Mit dem umfangreichen Digitalpaket für die Stiftung THW soll der digitale Wandel im Katastrophenschutz weiter vorangebracht und das THW dazu befähigt werden, in Krisenzeiten effizienter und zielgerichteter arbeiten zu können. Siemens Caring Hands übernimmt sowohl die Kosten für die Beschaffung und Einrichtung der Tablets als auch einen Großteil der Lizenzgebühren. Auf diese Weise gewährleistet der Verein die Nutzung der Apps für mindestens drei Jahre. Insgesamt unterstützt Siemens Caring Hands die Stiftung mit 566.000 Euro. Eine weiterführende Zusammenarbeit ist bereits in Planung, um auch in Zukunft einen nachhaltigen Beitrag zum Katastrophenschutz zu leisten.

Das Projekt ist wesentlicher Bestandteil der Initiative PROGRESSUS des THW, die das Technische Hilfswerk befähigen soll, mit Hilfe digitaler Lösungen noch effizienter, zielgerichteter und schneller helfen zu können.
