World Humanitarian Day: Siemens Caring Hands in global action for people in need
On World Humanitarian Day, Siemens Caring Hands e.V. would like to thank everyone who volunteers or works professionally to help those in need. Their work is often unseen and takes place under difficult conditions, yet it is invaluable. Every effort to help those in need makes a difference!

The theme of World Humanitarian Day 2025 is ‘Strengthening Global Solidarity and Empowering Local Communities‘. The theme highlights the importance of collaborating with local communities, viewing them not merely as recipients of aid, but as active contributors to sustainable humanitarian initiatives.
Close partnerships between Siemens Caring Hands and local communities enable targeted aid measures to be implemented in crisis areas. Close coordination with local staekholders has made it possible to provide assistance where it is needed most urgently. One example of this is the provision of modern medical technology in Ukraine.
Since the brutal war of aggression against Ukraine began in February 2022, there has been an urgent need for medical equipment to care for the population. Thanks to numerous donations, a matching programme and emergency aid from Siemens AG and Siemens Healthineers, Siemens Caring Hands has implemented over 140 projects in Ukraine to date. These projects have provided hospitals with the necessary equipment to deliver fast and flexible medical care, even in remote or destroyed regions. This equipment includes mobile X-ray machines, C-arms for surgical procedures and portable ultrasound machines. Since the war began, more than 16 hospitals have been supplied with medical equipment. The success of our relief efforts is only possible thanks to a strong supraregional network of partners.
