Past Projects

Siemens Caring Hands e.V. was founded in 2001 to provide help, without red tape, in the form of cash and in-kind donations in disaster situations. Siemens Caring Hands always works with local organizations and institutions in order to provide direct and sustainable support for the people in need.

The reason for founding Siemens Caring Hands was the desire of Siemens management and employees to provide direct and unbureaucratic help to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Siemens Caring Hands e.V. also became active in 2004 during the great tsunami in Asia, in 2005 during Hurican Katrina, in 2013 during the flood of the century, and in numerous other natural disasters.

As a response to the tsunami in India, Siemens Caring Hands e.V. together with the Srinivasan Services Trust provided aid in the most severely affected regions in the form of a holistic development project.

The development project in the districts of Nagapattinam and Kanyakumari included economic aid in the agricultural sector as well as educational measures and projects in the health sector.
