Aid projects in Asia
Earthquake in Afghanistan
After the country was severely shaken by an earthquake in October 2023, Siemens Caring Hands e.V. supported three different aid projects to help on the ground. In total, 74 affected regions were reached, impacting more than 139,000 people. For example, our support made it possible to provide 24/7 health services for 7 days a week for a period of 12 months at the Passab Health Center in the Helmand province. In addition, life-saving health and nutritional aid was distributed to over 100,000 internally displaced people.
Earthquake in Türkiye and Syria
In February 2023, regions in Türkiye and Syria were hit by powerful earthquakes. Donations were used to support relief projects for the local population. The focus was on strengthening and supporting various sectors and social groups, as well as projects to provide basic necessities, medical equipment, support for children and young people, and rebuilding critical infrastructure.

Flooding in Pakistan
In June 2022, four months of heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan caused the worst flood disaster on record. 33 million people were affected and more than 1,700 died. Siemens Caring Hands e.V. worked with the local NGO Indus Hospital and Health Network to set up a mobile container clinic. This allowed patients suffering from widespread diseases such as malaria, diarrhoea and acute respiratory infections to be treated. Other areas of focus included maternal and child health, hygiene, nutrition, and more. In total, more than 30,000 people benefited from the aid.
