Encouraging STEAM Education: Back to School Program in Columbia

,

Siemens Caring Hands e.V. supports the Siemens Colombia Foundation’s Back to School program to promote STEAM education (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, arts and technology) in Colombia. This is the idea of the “BUS STEAM LAB”, an initiative of SIemens Fundacíon Colombia and COMFABUY (Family Compensation Fund of Boyaca).

The goal of the program is to provide STEAM education for boys and girls in the public spaces and in their schools by supporting teachers in bringing the children closer to STEAM areas and sparking their curiousity.

In the city of Tunja Boyacá the program consists of a mobile classroom with computer equipment and training workshops that benefited around 160 boys and girls. In addition, STEAM education workshops were held in the municipality of Tena Cundinamarca to train 40 boys and girls on the use of energy.
