To ensure access to education and enable equal opportunities for learning even in times of Covid-19, Siemens Caring Hands supports the Siemens Stiftung in developing innovative educational content for teachers as well as students in Latin America, thus promoting STEM education.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Covid-19 pandemic has presented us with new challenges around the world and, unlike any other crisis before, it has demonstrated the need for innovative teaching methods and new approaches to schooling. In Latin America alone, 160 million students are affected by school closures, according to UNESCO.<\/p>\n

Access to education, and particularly STEM education, is essential, especially in times like these: (STEM) knowledge enables society to meet the challenges of our time with creative solutions and serves as a basis for the development of problem-solving competencies and resilience.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the Siemens Stiftung, together with its partners in Latin America, is launching the \u201cSTEM Education for Innovation\u201d initiative, which is supported by the COVID-19 relief fund of Siemens Caring Hands with 500,000 euros. Within a year, this will set the course for 14 projects on the South American continent, in which new, digital educational formats and content will be designed, developed, and distributed. Thematically, the projects focus on science, technology, sustainability, climate change, health, and digitalization.<\/p>\n
